When a client no longer requires a piece of equipment funded by AHP Medical Benefits, the product(s) should be returned to CMEDS to be repaired, cleaned, and reused.
Process to return equipment:
Lower Mainland Vancouver Island and BC Interior
1. Due to limited resources, the CMEDS program relies on families returning equipment when able to do so; this ensures more equipment is available in the CMEDS recycling pool for children and youth across BC. If a client is unable to return heavy items, please arrange for equipment pick-up with the closest dealer. Clients or therapists may complete and submit the CMEDS Equipment Return Form.
2. If the client is in the lower mainland, on Vancouver Island, or in the Interior of BC, the client or therapist can return the equipment to HME (see addresses listed below) or to the nearest Child Development Centre (CDC). Please check with your CDC first to confirm they allow drop-offs.
